Very hard to find - but you might want to try Software Hut (http://www.softhut.com/cgi-bin/test/Web_store/web_store.cgi?page=catalog/hardware/memory/gvp_4MBand16MB.html&cart_id=8711712_20387)

I'd send them an email first to make sure:

1. They are the right kind for your board
2. Make sure they're actually in stock when you order.

Mine came with 4megs, which is enough for me for now, but that's one of the only places I found that even said they had them.

Has anybody ever found out just what a GVP SIMM-32 really is?? Did GVP actually build their own SIMM boards, or were they some type of re-branded Micron SIMM ? (Micron actually used to make Amiga products - yes THAT Micron!)

Unbelievable at SoftHut
GVP 4MB SIMM 32 RAM 60NS See below  $29.95
GVP 16MB SIMM 32 RAM 60NS See below  $79.95

and here at
Amigis:

GVP SIMM32/4 MB 60 ns €99.00

What incredible prices!!!

Do the GVP Combo use "custom" memories or the ones for 386/486 are good too?

That's what I am wondering!

I heard that mentioned a couple of times - so I'd email to be sure.  But I've had nothing but good, prompt dealings with them.  :-?

Better safe than sorry I guess.

There is a hack on Aminet to use regular 60ns SIMM on any GVP board.

Works, but look like a total mess. Wires coming and going around.

 You can download it here:rtfm:

Pity the people who bought them new:

REVIEW: GVP A530 Turbo accelerator and hard drive
...I have also added ... a GVP 4 meg SIMM-32 which is listed at $299, though I paid $209 ($220 with shipping and COD)...

I have a shrinkwrapped-new-in-the-box *1* meg SIMM-32 from a store that went under that still has a US$199 price sticker!

And thaks Rkauer for the hack tip - I like my hardware ugly  :-D

 @hardlink: you're welcome!:cheers:

To everybody: yes, I notice the "friendly" prices of original GVP SIMMs, but back in the days, GVP made a choice:

Permit the final user to use any crappy SIMM around and ruin the company name? Or make a special SIMM and sell it in the same market price?

Result: GVP made is own SIMM, but the regular memory banks prices go down, GVP ones doesn't...

Now everybody know what was happened after.

Software Hut is currently out of new or used GVP SIMMs. Of course these are "custom" SIMMs.
I made a huge mistake and sold three SIMMs on a GVP card several months ago - still kicking myself for that one!
And me with a "new" GVP G-Force 040, and no RAM.....
A2000 GVP 40MHz \'030, 21Mb RAM SD/FF, 2 floppies, internal CD-ROM drive, micromys v3 w/laser mouse
A1000 Microbotics Starboard II w/2Mb 1080, & external floppy (AIRdrive)
C-128 w/1571, 1750, & Final Cartridge III+

 Hi alles, I was wondering if someone would have the work to redraw this GVP memory board to support normal Simms, removed from PC boards. I have TONS of 72 Pin - 60ns PC Simms to canibalize. But since I have only one GVP 64-pin module, and I am not a skilled electric engineer, I am afraid of destroying it for nothing.

Having a layout for this or even only the pinouts of the GVP ram chips would be wonderful!

 Cheers,

if somebody has the eagle library for a 72 pin SIMM PCB, I believe we can derive a 64 pin GVP compatible from it.

Of course having the PCB produced will cost a lot (probably 50-100$ for the first prototype, 5$ ish for the boards after, add to that the trouble of unsoldering re-soldering ram chips from 72 pin SIMMs)

If the problem is ressolder the chips, why not leave as-is?

Simply make that aminet hack properly in PCB, with a SIMM socket to easy the job.
