Do we have any Page Stream users here?
What do you think of the program?

I used to use Pagestream for fun all the time. I was looking forward to running it again and upgrading it if possible. However, my A4000 just died on me so I'll be waiting until I find a new one.

It's a great program.

I think, Therefore - Amiga....

There is a Windows, Mac & Linux version available too, you know. No need just to use the miggy.

I have it on Amiga (V4, 5 doesn't yet work) And the PC (V5 does work).

It works great on both machines and providing you have the fonts on both systems, you can transfer documents between them both with ease.

It's a great DTP program, still being developed and the author replies to a lot of the queries on the ML. You can't say that for Quark!

Have any of you ever made a magazine?
If so, what was it like?

Total Amiga magazine was done on Pagestream. There's some PDF back issues you can have a look to see what's possible.

I downloaded it and it is a good looking mag.
It appears to have a borderless print style.

I made a brochure for a certified kosher deli in a food court located at the University of Chicago.  There were some bugs in PS4 regarding graphic image placement in the document vs. what actually got printed out.  I believe the problem was with vector graphics not printing out as it looked on the screen.

If you'd like the brochure, send me a pmail w/your e-mail.  You'll see what I mean.

I wrote & sent Deron the files re. this bug.  I hope it's squashed in v5.

Come to think of it, maybe it was when I attempted to save it as a .PDF.  Sorry, it's been awhile & I'd have to research it again.  Anyways, the bug put a kebosh on what I wanted to do.

Thanks, I knew about the other OS versions but I'd rather run it on an Amiga. I don't do a lot of layout that OpenOffice won't handle. My Pagestream use was back in the day and I wouldn't mind getting back into it but I'd like to do it on the Amiga.

I do tell others about Pagestream on the other OSs though. Yeah, Quark is done - Indesign pretty much rules the roost.

I often use pagestream on my peg2.
I am using it for drawing brackets supports for my oldtimercar.
It is fast on this machine and it does about all I want it to do.
And if you use this program everyday you get to know more functions everyday.
I do miss one function the menu object path subtract function.
Running Pagestream4 guess it is a 5 function?
This was advised to me by the yahoo pagestream support group to cut a piece off objects like a squar.
I want to buy me pagestream5 but where can I buy it nowadays?

Go to their website ;)

http://www.pagestream.org/

About bugs, there is a known limitation regarding exporting pdf's, but it is being worked on. Until then, the workaround is to print to postscript then convert to pdf.
