Dead NEC 3D monitor

My NEC 3D multisync refused to power up this morning. There is no on-off LED light, nothing lit up internally, screen is totally black, just totally dead.  Its not my A1200 because it works with 1084 ok.  Any ideas on how to fix this.  I wont open it up because there is a high voltage inside warning on the case

Have you checked the fuse? Could also be a fault with the power switch/button. Otherwise, try a TV reapir shop.

Edit: I am in NO WAY suggesting you open the monitor case, just check the fuse (if you can do it safely), and check the action of the power switch. Jeez.

From experience, most CRT monitors die because of the high voltage regulator. It starts with an annoying high pitched sound. Other then that I'm clueless, older CRT's are rock solid and fixable, unlike their tft counterparts.

Monitor internals can be deadly dangerous. If your short on experience, a TV or monitor repair shop is the best answer.

Here in the UK, the fuse is located in the plug, and is perfectly safe to replace.

In my country it's placed around the power entry, or even in the computer itself.

Even those of us with life long experience fixing TV's get knocked to the ground now and then!  NOT RECOMMENDED.

I always fear that I'm going to get nailed and then unconciously jerk my hand back like you do when you get shocked, and accidentally break the CRT...
What really bites is trying to reach around a big TV so you can see the raster whilst you adjust the yokes, because you can't get your hands on a good mirror.  Having someone else watch and try and tell you what to adjust is TOTALLY impossible!

I still use NEC 3D Mutisync's. They have both died, and been fixed by a good, local TV/Electronics repair shop. One just recently cost $60.00 to repair, and looks brand new again (display wise)!
