OS 3.9 + IdeFix CD rom Problem

I got this error in a window and the CD-Rom is not recognized:

          Cache CDFS                        
   
      Cannot open "scsi.device" unit 2

          [ Abort ]                    


What I have done is:

Formatted the A1200 and installed with OS 3.1

Installed IdeFix Express

Created an Emergency Disk with the CD 0S 3.9

Installed the OS 3.9

Readed Amiga OS 3.9 Faq

Edited in Devs/Dosdrivers/CD0 and typed "scsi.device" instead of "atapi.device"

and putted SetPatch V44.16
           FastFileSystem V44.16

and these changes in s/startup-sequence

But I continue to have the error Cannot open "scsi.device" unit 2

Are you sure the unit number is correct?  Try using finddevice to see what unit number it's on.  Also check the master/slave settings on the drive.

Setting such as Master or Slave are perfect.

Now I changede DEVICE=0 in Devs/DOSDrivers/CD0 text and
the error of the missing atapi.device disappear but
appears on the Workbench

           CD0:Uninitialized               !!!!


What can I do?

IIRC, device 0 should be primary connector master (maybe your HD?).  Did finddevice show a CD-ROM anywhere?

Master and slave are OK both CD and HD

I don't know where is finddevice

and if I type info in the shell it says CD0 Not a Dos Disk

and from WorkBench I see CD0: Uninitialized  !!!!

Easy one this...os3.9 sneaks another cdrom driver in.

got to devs/dos drivers folder and delete the amithlon folder and the amigaxl folder.

Doesnt matter...os3.9 still puts that folder in there...try it and see.

FindDevice is inside the IDEfix97 drawer and is very useful.

You tick the box 'Scan All device Types' then click on a device type in the left window. Click 'Scan' and the devices and unit numbers will appear in the right window.

thanks for the advise but I'm looking any amigan with OS 3.9 and IdeFix to solve my problem.

your not using IdeFIX software at all.

uncomment ALL the above posted idefix lines otherwise your 2nd channel will not work (and re-edit the CD0 dosdriver with atapi.device as well)

btw ... unit 2 is on the second channel

ah ... and install BB1 and BB2 as soon as possible
