iBrowse 2.4 - From where?
« on: February 19, 2008, 01:02:13 PM »
I know that I'm a "bit" late, but is there any other possibility to buy a full licensed iBrowse for Amiga?

You have seen that the iBrowse dev team are no longer taking registrations......?

I dont know of anywhere else to get it.

The 2.3 demo (aminet)is adequate for most Amiga based browsing.  2.4 doesnt bring any massive benefits.

Well I used Ibrowse 2.3 for 2 years and it rarely crashed. I now use 2.4 and it crashes as frequently as 2.3

I'm just going by the info on the IBrowse dev team webpage. If anyone knows the difference between 2.3 and 2.4, it's them.

You cant register since april last year :(

Really strange way, i know they could sell some copies if they sell key for 10Euro or something sensible like that.

That's exactly the point. Why they don't sell just a key to unlock iBrowse to its full.

And what about 3.0 then? I heard somewhere something about that, or it's just a rumour? With CSS, more java compatible, newer flash plugin etc. But, there is nothing on their site about this version.

original sale price was ~64-65eur...
I suspect they do not sell it because they have no longer a distirbutor to manage their key-based system and perhaps because they got so little responce with 2.4 that they just don't care anymore.

2.4 seem to be more stable for myself.
Javascript is also processed a lot faster.

"original sale price was ~64-65eur..." I think its just too much when no updates have been done on a long time..

And surely they want some money, some is better than none ? Or ??

2.4 is much more stable and really faster.
Some addons are also really usefull, I couldn't use 2.3 anymore.

to those who nag... let's get the IB2.4 release... some users that really wanted it (like I did) bought it in the first few days from the release... then some bought it in the 1st month... then noone, and IOSpirit dropped support. Someone remembers that he wants it , but now it is not available because the authors are already dissapointed and they lost their publishing company.
so they easily abandon the whole project and spent their time in more profitable projects. Do you think that if it really worthed their troubles, they are so stupid that can't setup a paypal buy/sell acount for their product?
it is the same story all over again, typical in amiga world.

and as for the pricing matter, why should they sell their labour for a small fee of 10eur? because you deserve to get it cheap? because of it's limited use? or because some ppl want to use it fully, but also don't want to pay for it?

Iospirit stopped all their Amiga sales in April, not just Ibrowse.

And ofcourse its not much money in Amiga sales these days, but if they sell it cheap many will buy it.. Now nobody can buy it anyway, its not nagging btw. its discussion.

If they sell it cheap, maybe even winuae users will buy it...
