Yes, I'm aware...

was actually hoping someone with a specific need still in an industrial or corporate setting may actually need Arcnet and NOT ethernet specifically because it provides a more robust network...as mentioned in the book of hardware description.

Besides...listing ALSO says "Make Offer"...

I haven't found reference sales or auctions for these so it's best to open things up to as wide a range as possible.

I bought 3 of these for 50€, roughly 75USD. That makes them worth about 25$ a piece.

The A560 is slightly higher in value, be it because they are a little more rare then the A2060.

Forget about any "industrial" applications for these cards, hardly any industry still uses ARCnet, let alone Amiga's in them.

You might have a chance selling them cheaply to amiga fanatics (like me) who want to hook up a bunch of Amiga's together without having to spend big bucks on Ethernet.

dude, your prices are offending ... I wouldn't spend that money on that board even if it had GURU rom on it. that's one of the crappiest scsi boards out there. a gvp board would wipe thefloor with it and they sell for dimes.

The "buy it now" is just a wishful thinking price, but you could easily bid $25 and "win" the card.

One thing I will say, as someone who has bought from him, is that once you pay then the item shows up about 3 days later and is well packed.  

I'd rather pay $100 for a working card that shows up rather than $50 for one off DoomMaster which either doesn't arrive or was deliberately snapped in two before he inserted into the bag.   :-D

Recently I've started using the 'buy it now' fixed price option in hopes that some listings won't have to run the length of the posting...just saves time if someone really wants a thing.  Typically if I'm uncertain of a price range I list it for a high price or best offer and I always have the option of reducing the buy it now price.

Pricing is a fluid thing and one day something can rate quite a bit and the next it only garners a fraction of that.

(..having taken the time to collect quite a bit of Amiga stuff over the years I have a few things I'd like to reinvest in today so making good deals is important to me so I can do that.)

..having said that I'd like things to go to those who really have uses for them.  I try to be straight about what items are, if I've tested them or not...and if not, if I'll take returns or not so buyers aren't buying a pig in a poke.

As for 'buy it now' prices...if someone has a need for the item as described it's worth it to pay for the opportunity to get an item they might have to spend a lot of time waiting or searching for again.  I've paid a premium for things I no longer wanted to wait around looking for.

The things I'm pretty certain of pricing for I tend to list in auctions with reserves at about 40% of what it should go for.  Sometimes I'm surprised, mostly it goes for about what I think it should.

I also have quite a bit of orphan bits and pieces that aren't high priorities and might be of use to someone.  I'd be interested in trading for bits I need and I do tend to note when I see someone else needs an odd bit.  Trading or giving a piece of casework or tiny bit of something is just good community practice.

ok....so, the thing is when you write a listing you're trying to give yourself as many options as possible...and ebay charges you for the listing so canceling and relisting costs money.

I mean if you see a used car with a sign that says $3,000 and it's worth $1800 and it says OBO (so the seller is taking offer) do you go up and tell them how overpriced they are?

If you're interested you make your offer.  If not, telling them what they already know isn't going to change their listing...they're putting it out there for that person who wants the thing NOW.  If it doesn't sell the sign will change....geeeez.

There are plenty of things in the Amiga community to be offended by....someone placing a high resale price on an item while taking offers seems like a low priority to get upset about.

Prices outside the range a community values something tend to be adjusted...just the market finding it's level.
