I'd like OS4 and MOS ported to Apple laptops. :-)

I would, the A1200 was outstanding in it's day, (both for price and performance). An Amiga One with a similar design, take away the floppy and add a DVD and TV input/output and you'd have an outstanding portable system. :-D

Yes I'd really like that. Kinda like an hybrid thing, between a laptop and a desktop, maybe with some advantages of both. Very cool.
The A1200 case is actuallly very good looking. Just change colour to that marine transparent blue like Macs and it's very attractive.
Another advantage is that the itx boards that are coming even have a PCI slot if I rember correctly  and a CPU one!! So you could towerise the thing later if you wanted, or just upgrade to a better CPU, and GFX card.
And it's not that expensive.
I'd buy it right away, and use it to play DVDs in my living room. Actually with that PCI slot you could put in one of those Satellite / Digital  TV cards and turn the thing into an amazing set top box.  Or just run Linux and have little  webserver for your site  with very low power consumption.  .....

While I liked the all-in-one compact design, I'd rather have a full blown tower for expandibility.  An A1200 design would be nostalgic but you'd be stuck with what's inside the case and most people would not have the knowledge to move everything into a tower.  And have you ever spilled a drink on your Amiga?  I did on my A500 and I had to pay $150 for repairs.  The other night I knocked a glass of Coke(tm) all over my PeeCee keyboard and all I had to do was pop out the keys and give it a good clean. (It needed it anyway!)

Am I the only one who found the design of the A500 better looking than the A1200?  It was much sleaker and I even think the keyboard felt better.

Yes, I alsi like the idea of a transparent blue, but leave most of it as is,(like the original A1200), and add some transparent stips to add originality, like where the CPU is located, that would be eyecatching. Too much blue would be overkill.  Aparantly it does have a single PCI slot and the CPU is socketed, so expandability would be key here, extending the life way beyond that of the A1200s.

Imagine the amount of ports sticking out of the back/side.

Ser., par., phone jack, 2 USBs, ethernet, monitor, TV, RCAs, flat panel disply, firewire, PCMCIA (nah, that's retired), Irda, optical for 5.1 surround, 3 compact flash cards (who needs a hard drive?), and last but not least, a power plug.

Miss any?....speak now or forever hold your peace. ;-)

edit - I'd like to see it down to the size of a C64!!! Really! :-D - edit
edit2 - What would they think of THAT in 10 or 15 years!?!?!! - edit2

AmigaOne.5!!!

So I guess that A500, 600, 1000, 2000, CDTV, CD32, are pure garbage then? Thanks for posting here.

seriously i mean NO ...but the a1200 was an option to all who had little money..

same as a500...

so yes i think amigaone one light should come, to have a smaller prie tag and maybe somewhat limited in some places, mainly because not everyone is as rich asthey want to be.

but if you talk of a desktop case etc, nah...just use mini ITX etc :)

i would have no prob with a 17cm x 17cm case :)

cheers
Whats up with all the hate!
