Anyone used www.amigacentre.com for repairs?
« on: February 11, 2008, 08:58:31 PM »
I'm wondering if anyone has used amigacentre.com in France for repairs? I have a couple of niggles on my A4000 motherboard and am considering having it fixed. I just don't like the thought of posting it so far.

Thanks,

Robert

if that's the one in France, it comes highly recommended (perhaps the highest rated of the remaining repair centres).

Are there any other places though?

Yes, I believe the guy is called Boulet Jean-Jacques.

Cls,

What postage method did you use? Royal mail or something like UPS?

Hmm, Je pense RMK305 est en Angleterre !!

Your biggest issue will be packing it very carefully to prevent our beloved Royal Mail from destroying it ! Insurance is necessary, as is good anti-static bags etc.

I recently used these guys to get the best price to send motorcycle cylinder barrels to and from the USA; well worth a look  :-D

I don't speak a word of French. So I take it I've made an arse of myself.

Just thought it might be worth mentioning that I was looking for couriers the other day and came accross Interparcel. I did a bit of reading about them and found quite a lot of negative comments about them. I'm not saying don't use them as I heard plenty of good comments as well butthere were a few too many bad ones for my liking.

If you search the 'net you'll find plenty of negative feedback on just about every courier out there.

Robert....I had JJ at Amiga Center France redo my A4000 mother board a couple of years ago, and fit it with a new coin type battery.  Did great work and the Amiga came back good as new!

I live in California and was a bit reluctant to ship but it was a great experience...recommend them.
