Latest powerflyer drivers
« on: February 10, 2008, 01:51:44 PM »
Hi

I have had a powerflyer for years.  I registered it with elbox back in the day, but it was with a very old email address so I no longer get the driver updates.

COuld somebody send me the latest recently released drivers please.

THanks.

Nice one for the sarcasm....Wild guess, your a fricking idiot.

But elbox dont offer their drivers for download.  Cause of their paranoid approach to drivers and they dont want people findng more RDB trashing code.

They only email them out to registered users.

Hence why I asked for them to be sent.

@JJ

If don't have the FastATA MK-III, the latest drivers will not work. In such case, open your Amiga, find the small label in the powerflyer itself that has the serial# and email that number to them, they should email you the latest drivers for the Powerflyer version you have according to what you can read in their homepage.

Version 7.1 if you have a FastATA MK-II or older.
Version 8.8 if you have the latest FastATA MK-III.
Version 2.5 if you have FastATA 4000 and/or FastATA ZIV controllers.

Hope that helps,

D.

hi jj

you need to re-send your new deails (email) & your card No
and you will then be re-registerd for updates.

The Elbox website says registered customers can get software support from:

support@elbox.com

Doesn't that work?

I'm in a similar bind.  I have the Power Flyer Gold in my A1200 tower.  I registered it with Elbox and I've never received an update to my email address.  NEVER!

I killed one mobo re-installing the flyer and I have no intention of risking another by removing my internal SDFF and Flyer just to get to a serial number that was placed face down to the A1200 mobo!  What fricking moron put the serial number on the side you can't see???!!!

I have an older version, but want the lasteest

ive just got the one that came on the disk which is ancient and causes all sorts of problems with makecd and rom updates

Also as everyone know how hard these things are to get into the rom sockets, i broke a pin on it when i installed it many years ago and had to solder a wire onto broken pin and insert in socket.

No way I am pulling that out

Powerflyer gold is same as mark III ?

More Elbox bashing...
I tried to register my buffered 4xEIDE the other week but it seems their anti-spam is too sensitive as other people have found out.

Update
------

Cant complain.  I emailed elbox on sunday, monday they replied.  The tracked down my original email by my name.  I didnt send them serial then.  But they worked out as original email I sent them was in 2001 that I have a mk II and have sent me the drivers.

Thats twice in the last 7 years they have given me good customer service to a product that was second hand when i bought it in 2001.

@ JJ

I guess I'll drop them an email next week when I get back to the States.  Perhaps they can look me up while they're in a good mood.

I don't suppose they mentioned anything about a shark in their email?   :-)
