@dfreniche

the correct english is "kids". the word "children" is archaic and went out of fashion many years ago.

If this list keeps growing, you'll be able to entertain your children until they graduate from university. Having said that, I'll make a late nomination for Bubble and Squeak.

Let's see, my girls:

My oldest (now 24) loved Rainbow Islands the best, Sword of Sodan, Shadow of the Beast, Shanghai, Arkanoid, Elf Mania & Battle Squadron but also played others . . .

My Youngest (now 21) Rainbow Islands, Pinball (F/I etc.), Lords Of War, Battle Squadron, GODS.  (Big Doom fan back when . . .)

Both like and still play Rainbow Islands, Battle Squadron & Elf Mania when they come for a Daddy fix . . .  :-D

Are you talking about a word or the Amiga? :-) I'm old-fashioned! I love retro-computing, why not retro-slang?
The New Oxford Dictionary in my MacBook tells me:
Quote

USAGE Kid, meaning 'child,' although widely seen in informal contexts, should, like its casual relatives mom and dad, be avoided in formal writing.

And I'm very formal :lol:
Thanks. I'll write it down and try to be more "cool" and "new-fashioned" :roflmao:

@dfreniche

Nothing wrong with being old fashioned - bet if you had said 'kids' someone would've pulled you up and asked why you were letting young goats play on your Amiga. :-D

I don't have any children, but I was a child myself when the Amiga was arguably in its prime. Games I remember loving from back then:

Zool 2
Cannon Fodder - hmm, maybe not appropriate depending on the age of your children :-)
PP Hammer
Lemmings 1 and 2
XTReme Racing
Nebulus - I really think your children will love this one!
Superfrog
Pinball Dreams
Pinball Fantasies
Obstickle
Megaball - you'll like this if you like Arkanoid

Many more I can't think of at the moment, and also I got many, many (many) hours of enjoyment from playing PD games downloaded from Aminet, and also from cover disks/CDs of Amiga magazines (most of which are probably also available on Aminet). You should encourage your children to look through the games on Aminet, download any they like the sound of, and try them out! Half the fun is discovering the gems. You may download 20 games and find that you don't like 15 of them, but the remaining 5 will give you lots of enjoyment.

About Prince of Persia; maybe it's no too suited to kids because when people die in the game it can be a bit bloody.

Nothing to be all Jack Thompson about but maybe too much for kids aged 2 to 4.

If you can get hold of it, the CU Amiga 21 games disk was great. I remember me and my sister playing the games on that disk for many years. The games are categorised, and include puzzles as well as action and arcade games. The games are very old now and probably don't look too good, but I'm sure your children won't mind :-)
