wanted 2000 floppy shelf
« on: February 08, 2008, 04:58:24 PM »
I have a working 2000 that lacks the metal bracket that sits on top of the sub assembly that you attach the floppies to.

I've emailed a few places and thought I'd ask on here if anyone has some old case work laying around or just the bracket they might not have a use for.

please contact me privately on here.  thanks.
Sincerely,

Why not try and make one? It doesn't look too hard to do.

I have considered that but my first impulse is to see if I can find one.  Considering how many spare parts, casework, etc. I've gathered up, given away and sold over the years I'm guessing others do the same and there's one around to be had.

Before I start banging and bending tin to fabricate some sort of Frankenbracket it just seemed simpler to ask first.

I've got one I don't use. How big of a hurry are you in to
get one? It might be a day or 2 before I can dig it out
of the closet it's in.

sounds good...I figured someone had as many bits in their closet as I did.

Not so much in a hurry...just want to get this machine in a more workable state so I can use it to test things in.

At the moment it's got the cover off and the floppy just sort of sits on top of the sub chassis but I want to be able close it up and use it properly eventually.

message me off forum or I'll drop you a note.
Sincerely,

It's amazing how much accumulates over the years. Almost
as amazing as how we make it all fit in that closet. >:)

Ok, I'll try to make time tomorrow to dig it out.

Ok, I'll send you some mail as soon as I get it out of the
machine.

I dropped you a message privately.

If it's in a working 2000, please don't start taking pieces out on my account.  I'm sure someone has an orphan bracket somewhere.
