Right click not working.
« on: February 08, 2008, 12:10:06 PM »
I think my A1200 motherboard has developed an issue with the mouse port. It doesn't respond to the right click of the mouse anymore it seems. I have a bad feeling i'd need to replace the whole motherboard which would be a right royal pain in the ass to do with all the expansions I have.
Would anyone have any ideas how to resolve this? :-?

Maybe it's just a loose mouseport. Certain revisions of the A1200 mainboard have the mouseport connected via a flatcable instead of a direct (soldered) connection.

did you have any faulty installation at your amiga ? like putting the IDE cable other way around, or faulty installation of kickstart chips ? did you try to use a serial mouse (not amiga mouse) on your amiga ?

I had that same problem many years ago, the only way I could get it fixed was to have the mouse port replaced.  Good luck!

I am positive it's nothing like any installation problems, hardware or software. I will see if phisically ok or not shortly.

It all appears to be ok, The mouseport is just a mouseport with a cable plugged into the end of the motherboard. It's a Rev. 1D, are they good or are there better ones for my setup?

Check the continuity with a multimeter first.

Other approach: connect a CD32 controller (or a 2 button joystick) and check if the second button works while playing a game.

If you got a no-go, then your CIA A is busted.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.
