NewShell over AUX:

I read that you can connect up two Amigas and run a shell to the other over a serial link via the AUX: device.
I've plugged a null-modem cable between my two machines and typed;
1>MOUNT AUX:
1>NEWSHELL AUX:
on the first machine but nothing happens on the second.
Is a new shell window meant to open on the second? How can I get it to work?
If you are wondering why then I just want a quick way to test serial port communications (I'm trying to recompile something to use a silversurfer.device)

Uhm, you're supposed to NEWSHELL AUX: on the system you connect to. That is the shell's input and output goes to the serial.

How does it know to send commands from the first system to the second? Are you saying thats what the 1>MOUNT AUX: is for?
Do I need to do a 1> COPY * TO AUX: on the first system or something like that?

Well, terminal program works the best IMO.
