Bump.

Any programmers need these books? I'd be willing to assist with transportation.

That sounds doable JJ. Couple of questions:

1. Do you intend to use them to assist you in Amiga development? If so, any chance you could tell us what you are/going to be working on? :-D
2. Whereabouts in Wales do you live? I'm going to Cardiff in a couple of weeks time so I could drop them off if you lived in South Wales.

Well at the moment I have never done any programming on the Amiga, apart from blitz and amos. Its something I have always wanted to get into.

I did a lot of basic and assembler programming on the Amstrad cpc back in the day.

Ive done a fair bit of programming in various of versions of basic on various platforms including VB.

I live closeish to cardiff. Was born there and I work in cardiff so would be easy to meet.

You coming here for anything specail.  AmigaKit are based in cardiff.

As long as I know you have intentions to use the books JJ, that's good enough for me.

I'm coming into Cardiff on Saturday, 23 February for the Italy vs Wales rugby match. Is Amigakit anywhere near the town centre? I used to go to Uni in South Wales, and consequently know my way around Cardiff, but I don't remember seeing the store before.

If it is central, that would be a good place to meet. I'll send zx6r6 another e-mail so I can arrange collection of the books.

I cant remeber the exact loaction.  I think its not a coventional shop open to the public, more of an office.  Pop matthew an email he will be able to tell you more.

Whats the interest in the rugby , supporting Wales or Italy ?

I can meet you in anywhere in cardiff as work in the centre in the tallest buliding in wales lol.

I will prob be in town that day to watch the rugby anyway :)

I have no intention of having these books and selling them on ebay.

JJ, I got your books from zx6r6 yesterday (thanks zx6r6!).
I'll contact you soon so we can arrange a good time and place in Cardiff to meet.

To those who missed out, I am prepared to scan sections of the books to give you a chance to read them. Let me know if you are interested.

Quite a cool random thing happened just after I had picked up the books. I was reading the Motorola MC68000 Assembly Language Programming book on the train when a passenger sitting across the way from me started up a conversation about the book. He told me he worked for Freescale (I think his job title was system architect), he thought it was pretty cool people were still learning about the old computer stuff. Said he had been to CES 2008 so I asked him about LimePC, he vaguely remembered it. Nice guy.
