I was going to reply "use search", "we've seen moana!" etc.

Then I restrained myself and thought, nah some one else will...

And then I looked at the actual link... Cripes!!!

I hope people BUY OS4 to play around like that... It's awesome :)
A posting a day keeps the sanity away...

Probably, but who knows until they give more evidence? There could be an A1 under the desk in that video.

That's certainly a possibility (the A1 under desk theory).

If it does turn out to be true, its a brilliant development for OS4. I just wish the video quality wasn't so grainy so I could read the text.

@Krusher
I suspected as much. You must have super good eyesight to read all that stuff. What information did you glean from reading the text? What version of MacMini is this running on, for example?

Some devices show up as Apple Computer Inc - unknown
Nec - USB 2.0 host
Ati - Graphics card Radeon 9200
Broadcom - Network device?

And a long list of vendor and pci devices, among a Stingray GUI accelerator

Actually it's this list

The video doesn't really prove that OS4 can be run on a Mac. The showconfig type utilities could just be a shell script, and it doesn't show OS4 booting.

It's an interesting video, but it's not proof of any sort.

at this point, it's just pathetic.  Clinging to some desperate hope.

"let's port our dead OS to a dead platform"

Face it, the Amiga as a product is dead.  Projects like AROS and the MiniMig are the future for Amiga, and the sooner we can accept it and move on, the better it will be for all of us.

It's interesting from a technical perspective. Also, however small the Amiga market is now any work that helps to extend the availability of Amiga products should be welcomed, IMO.

I've got a lot of time for AROS and the Minimig, but it's not an either/or situation about which ones we should support, at least not at the moment. Lets give all Amiga platforms time to mature before backing one solution on masse.

Easy to hoax to be honest. As previously mentioned, the showconfig scripts etc could very, very easily be faked. Rebooting the machine and allowing OS X to boot is an excellent way to provide evidence for the legitimacy of this demonstration, but I think it's very suspicious that the camera pans away just before the machine starts back up. How do we know that the operator didn't switch a KVM from an A1 to a Mac while the camera was looking elsewhere?

If this were real, the only convincing demonstration would show the Mac Mini powered off with the video cable visible, showing it going from the Mac Mini to the monitor, then the Mac Mini powers on and boots OS4 with no camera movement whatsoever.

Just as well, it's taken them 12-13 years to get this far.

I haven't been following AROS from the start, so it still feels like a new project to me. Here's hoping the next 12-13 years will be a little more kind to AROS growth.

And out of the past four years, you would be amazed on the advancement compared to the other 8 years.  08 is going to be a very interesting year for AROS developement.
