How are you connected? Ethernet? Null modem cable? Something else?

What kind of Amiga/OS/CPU/TCP-IP stack/FTP client?

Your network connection or CPU is most likely the bottleneck.

How slow?  The PCMCIA is not too fast, especially with a slow processor.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

2KB/sec doesn't sound right at all. I don't know Gene6, but many FTP servers allow you to specify a bandwidth limit. Perhaps it has some low default setting?

Edit: Did a reboot on the amiga, now it works fine ! 1.6 mb file in 2 secs :) weeee !

Thanks for help anyway !

This is normal when running FTP. But I wonder how the poster achieve to install 3.9 on a 1200 with a 1220/4 (68EC020 + 4Mb).

The OS probably crawl on such a humble accelerator like that.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.
