Genesis is stand alone from OS3.9. Also make sure you have installed both Boing Bags; these include fixes for Genesis.

And when you say standalone, do you then mean that i don't have to use AmiTCP ? (i'm trying to get samba working)

Boing Bags; updates to AmigaOS 3.9

And yes stand alone means you don't need AmiTCP installed seperately. AFAIK Genesis is newer version of AmiTCP with a GUI.

Yes, Genesis is a fully working TCP stack. Only broken thing is DHCP.

I just installed Genesis froom my OS3.9 disk. I have already rung both Boing Bags.

Genesis won't configure and actually crashes my system, causing a reboot :( Do you know if it has overwritten some  of the BoingBag files?

As a result of that, possibly, or possibly because my miggycrashed when backing up to USB disk, I lost my Microdot2 addresses (which uses contact manager). So far, I think it's just the address book and I hope I've not lost anything else

You needed to have Genesis installed first in order for the BoingBags to update it.

And PPPoE, iirc. The 2 main disadvantages of Genesis over MiamiDx.

If you are using a filesystem with an undelete feature, you know what you have to do. If not, i could be wrong but, you could check if there is a .bak file in the directory of Microdot or contact manager and rename it.
