very new to emulation HELP ME PLZ!!

HI i am new to amiga emulation, it seems i can rum programs off disk i.e df0 df1 ect using winuae, but what i am trying to acomplish is to load the programs of this whdload, just to make it easier so i thought but i dont know where to put this whd file that i have dled :{ i am using amiga workbench program on cloanto it can see the programs in the folders and shows me picture of the file ect but when i click it it say to me "need to be a disk in drive LOL what am i doing wrong.

The file you downloaded for WHDLoad is just a 'client' file. You still need (an ADF image of) the original gamedisk before you can run it with WHDLoad under WinUAE.

But IMO, WHDLoad is more useful on real Amigas than under WinUAE. Just load the ADF image(s) of the game you want to play in WinUAE and off you go!



Oh yeah, and interpunction makes messages easier to read. :-)

Could it be that you have downloaded the WHD Load installer for the game?

WHD Load installer are not the games, but the programs that will make HD versions of your floppy games.

Now, complete finished whdload game packages are available from many known sources which doesn't need naming here. Google is your friend.

I both agree and disagree.

WHD Load:
Games loads much faster if you boot into a WB 1.3 image, and right into the WHD Load game. UAE is true to the floppy speed in emulation.

Disk image under UAE:
Games almost always (99.99%) work as intended. Ie, Pinball dreams WHDLoad doesn't save Highscores. ADF under UAE does!

Thank you lots and lots,and just for the record :-) ,i do have a real 1200, but i gave all my games away when i were a young lad, and have been gutted ever since  :-?, the reason for it is because,i paid money for the amiga emulator and the whole tosec collection of amiga games, but there in lhz and some other files, which i found out that i can only load from hd, or so i am lead to believe .
i have 1 more week off work so i will read all manuals to do with whd load, and see what happens, THAK YOU again guys  :-P

well i have a1200 + 600 with a quavers game?, but i really gave someone a whole load of amiga stuff for free. i
read about amiga emulation, and it all works fine but, i wanted to know how to boot all these games from hd on my pc using winuae :}. that is all

after all what can the amiga do that the pc cant.
pls dont get me wrong, i love my amiga when i used it, but now i am loving my amiga on my pc if that makes sense.
