Amiga Inc has posted a AA2 FAQ on their page.

http://www.amiga.com/faqs/
Quote

Q:  I have heard about something called "OS5". Is this the same thing?
A:
No. AA2 and the product often referred to as OS5 are entirely separate distinct products.

Quote

Q:  So what is OS5 then?
A:
OS5 is an ongoing project to build a new distributed virtualized operating system (in the true sense of the term operating system) that is also capable of running in a hosted form. OS5 is a long-term project that incorporates many of the next generation operating system concepts Amiga has extolled in the past.

There are a few more AA2 vs OS5 answers there.

Nothing really new. Except they continue to refute that AA2 = OS5.

Good news, if they will deliver...

Quote

EDIT/OFF TOPIC:They've had one press release a month in 2008, that is a 42% increase since 2007 if they keep it up.

A sign of increased activity?

A posting a day keeps the sanity away...

I would define Amiga Anywhere like that:

Do you know when you ask for a Coke and Get a Pepsi ? This is like asking for a Coke and getting used engine oil...  :-D

It needs an OS to run and when you get it to run it is so fast that you can't even see it  :-D . Only Chuck Norris can use it.

I'd have to say that Win UAE is the best emulator software. So simple to use and constantly updated by the developer.

AmigaAnywhere is bad marketing and the wrong name for this product............

1) it gives people the impression it runs Classic Amiga stuff
2) If it did run Amiga stuff, 99% of the world doesnt care
3) No one knows what the heck it is
4) The name needs to be changed, without theWord Amiga in it...it confuses people
5) it will fail if it is not changed
CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

I thought AA lost the Intent license, hence why this was AA2, reported to a new VP.
Try blazedmongers new Free Universal Computer kit, available with the GUI toolkit Your Own Universe, the popular IT edition, Extremely Reliable System for embedded work, Enhanced Database development and Wide Area Development system for telecommuting.

No VP in AA2 as far as I can tell. Amiga only mention source compatibility, not binary compatibility on different platforms with AA2.

What ticks me off about the whole AA idea is that they were offered freely a system to give them Intent-like capability, but with the added benefit of dynamic code generation on the fly and without corporate strings attached, and they turned it down.

Hey, I used the search function instead of creating a new thread. Yay, me!  :-D

Anyhoo, I just read that FAQ thing. I'm confused again because I know that I saw a video of McEwen saying that AA2=OS5. AUGH!

So what does this mean?  A distributed virtualised OS?  Distributed I understand, it's about three clicks to set up  in OS X, but virtualised?  Do they mean like Fusion or Parallels?  How can a company that has to outsource an OS upgrade like AmigaOS 4 possibly deliver virtualisation?  What the hell are they talking about?

Is Bill just virtualising the English language?

Abolutely it should be "Amiga Classic," the other way around is just silly.

I think they should stop calling them "silent" movies. They are just movies. The sound ones should be called something other than just "movies". I'm going to the talkies to see Jumper tomorrow. Twenty three skidoo, Mable.
