The mp3's shouldn't be in mp3, but plain pcm wave files like all cdrom/audio combo's

I'm even suprised that no-one comments that mp3's on an unaccelerated Amiga are even possible without hardware support, since mp3 wasn't there when the cd32 was designed.

@Krusher
MP3s as a format existed at the time the CD32 was released, as  MP3 is really MPEG 1 Layer 3 (i.e. the audio layer).

However, I was also surprised that the audio was stored in this format, wav files do seem like a more natural choice. Perhaps the mp3 formatting was chosen by Dream17 for ease of distribution (smaller file sizes).

I have located a torrent for this game and the info on it says it will burn in DAO/Raw mode. Once it finishes downloading I will test burning it. Regarding the audio tracks causing the problem, I did try converting them to WAV but this made no difference. The copy I am downloading is over 400MB in size compressed, so it looks like the audio is already in WAV format.

Ooooh alternative copy of SSD has finished downloading and is burning as we speak! Similar to the Dream17 version it's an ISO, several audio files and a cue sheet. The audio files are WAVs. Nero started burning the disc immediately with no complaints. Will report back in a few minutes once it has finished and I've tested it.

Hmm, disc burned ok but wouldn't boot on the CD32. Anyone know what is the difference between disc-at-once and disc-at-once/96?

[EDIT]
Never mind, dao/96 doesn't work anyway (get the original error again). About to try Alcohol 120%.

Just burned with Alcohol 120% in DAO/RAW mode but it still won't boot. The amber LED comes on on the CD32 but the disc doesn't even spin. Is that normal for a non-bootable CD?

Can you try it with WinUAE? here's      a link for setting WinUAE up for cd32 emulation.

Ok mounted the image in Daemon Tools, configured WinUAE according to that guide, but WinUAE doesn't just "pick up and boot" the virtual CD as the guide said. Is there anything else I need to do do make it boot?

in WinUAE, under harddrives, did you check the following:

Add pc drives at startup
Include cd/dvd drives
Automount removable drives

?

Did you see the CD32 startup screen btw?

Just tried and none of those options make a difference. Also tried burning a know working game (Alien Breed Tower Assault) to CD and testing that in the emulator and that won't start either.

Losing patience with this now. If anyone has SSD CD32 on a working CD, could they PM me please so we can try to arrange to get a working ISO?

I'm puzzled. The only thing I can think of is that the iso you have is not in the right cdfs mode, I recall problems with Aminet cd's and the cd32.

Oh well.

Well, it turns out I'm an idiot. Since I was wasting so many CDs trying to find a working burn method, I switched to a CDRW. When I burned the new version I downloaded to a CD-R it booted up on the CD32 :-D

The original version with the fixed cuesheet may or may not work. I haven't tested it on a CD-R, only the CDRW.
