A1000 RAM has a bid!

(I auctioned one like this last November and it went for around $50 so there still must be some out there who have some use for a 1000, if only for games for the kids.)

I'm checking out a few boards and some tutorial video tapes today and will be listing a few more items later.

thanks for bidding.
Sincerely,

just fair warning...

The A1000 RAM has 15 watchers!

...many more then when I auctioned a similar item last fall but then I didn't offer to ship worldwide then so I'm guessing that made the difference.

..when I set up the listing I entered shipping 'worldwide' via U.S. Priority International.  It won't be cheap to ship too far outside the U.S. but the listing should calculate shipping for you if you're logged in and ebay knows your address.

yes, ram expansions for the 1000 connected to the bus on the side...a lot like expansions for the 500 connected also.

(The connections for the 1000 are a bit higher because the casework is different and I'd guess the bus connector is somewhat different.)

Weirdami already knows the 1000 uses SOTS.  But it also uses internal RAM units from several manufacturers.
The reason you have so many watchers is becuse that RAM expansion is silly-old looking even for an Amiga 1000.  The Alegra, Micron, Microbotics, Comspec, etc RAM units are way smaller and match the color and style of the 1000's case. You have something homebrewed or prototype or just really archaic.

I suspect that it is very nearly identical to other expansions.  It is analogous to one I auctioned from Microbotics last fall in size and layout though that card was narrower and had labeled casework.  While the Microbotics expansion was painted an ivory color the casework was metal.

I do not believe this is home brewed.  While the case is unpainted the case appears to have been manufactured to fit the bus connection on the 1000 and shows no sign of being "hacked".  The board appears mass produced in that the components do not appear to be hand soldered.

In the early days there were a number of manufacturers of small items and all of them aren't documented.

for the information of those interested in bidding on this item...
