I thought it had its own GUI but I'm unable to check because it crashes under OS4.

Did you make sure to copy zlib.library to libs: and diskimage.device to devs:

Just install it then run DiskImageCtrl with no arguments, and it will pop up a GUI to allow you to select the disk image.

i have to put my tower back together. does it work with non dos disks? also how many disks can you load at once? and does this end the need to install games? thanks.

This thing only lets you mount the disk images. It does not let you boot games from the mounted images.

If you want to run games, look into WHDLoad.

As for non-DOS disks, I think it will mount them, but they will show up as non-DOS, so won't be very useful to you. As Piru said, if you want to boot a non-DOS game then either run it from floppy, or install with WHDLoad.

thats a real shame. that made me a little excited! i think i'm fed up of using adf blitzer and floppies that always seem to be bad. i take it the minimig boots images?
and i guess whdload still doesn't like the files on back2the roots... :-(

It would not work. Most demos and games poke the hardware in their trackloader routines.

Anyway, there already is "adfboot", sort of: Just mount RAD and copy the adf on it. Boot.

As you'll find out, most games won't load from RAD (the bootblock loads, but soon after the game will attempt to load rest of the tracks from the DF0, resulting in error or crash).

UAE on classic amiga is way too slow to be usable. But yes, it uses adfs for the floppy emulation.
