@HenryCase

some point that it should be called ++C instead of C++, because IIRC its increased after the operation when you put ++ second (someone will explain it better)
Better sorry than worry.

I still like the fact that C++ means C+1. Great geeky humour. :-)

The ++ is the increment operator. Really C++ means "C incremented".
You can see the same joke when someone refers to XML as SGML--, instead of HTML++.

This thread is getting more and more nerd / geek ...  :lol:
I love that!

I'm a Pascal programmer, but I can read and understand C as much as I dislike it.

Kudos for PASCAL!

Coding in Algol on a big heavy loud old minicomputer is just pure fun.  I used to have a Wang the size of 4 A2000's (okay, don't blame me if you don't really know what a Wang is! :roll: ) and I would write really stupid Algol programs on it just because I didn't know what else to do with it.  I had free electricity back then and I'd use my Wang to heat my apartment.  Mostly it just displayed the boot screen:

:lol:

Thanks!  I really appreciate that, I wasn't sure if anyone would care for it.  I was pretty tired one night and I was posting something about OS4 and A500's and I typed hSO without even thinking about it!  And then, I realised I can type most of the Amiga model names that way and quite a few other words!

It's very easy to figure out your signature: you only have to rotate your TFT... ;-)

C, as in the programming language? It's the follow up to B, silly! ;-)

So what came before B? A? Not quite. Here's the lineage C follows:

ALGOL 58/IAL -> ALGOL 60 -> CPL -> BCPL -> B -> C

I still like the fact that C++ means C+1. Great geeky humour. :-)

So, I'm not the last remaining Amiga user using Pascal?  We need to band together and help the person who ported FPC to OS4 to finish it and also to find a way to compile 68000 and '020 under OS4.   :idea:
My ambitious projects are on hold because I'm too lazy to reboot to OS3.9 to compile!  I'm actually thinking about running UAE for this purpose.
Also, help with my projects would be appreciated :-D
