I really think that Amiga Inc is just a company now that is having fun dribbling crap and seeing the reaction of people. Maybe a psychology experiment on how long you can string people along by dangling the proverbial carrot.

For a change, why doesn't Bill tell us what he did with the money from the $100 Party Pack and $50 I am Amiga Club coupon money? Did he use it to buy Christmas presents, a Maserati car and other expensive gadgets (like "a V-Twin 1500cc Victory Motorcycle, a Polaris Quad, three horses, a ski boat and a John Deere Tractor") while his employees couldn't pay their medical bills?

OS5 will run on the new A2 boards that will be released February this year. They uses 8 Cell processors running at 10GHz each, have 16Gb of RAM and are water cooled.

You can install them on any ATX tower big enough to fit the Ford T radiator that comes with the kit, and have either a 10kW power supply or a Diesel generator.

OS5 is so fast that only Chuck Norris can use it.

Amiga OS 4.0 will be released this November, a hybrid of the former Amiga OS. Amiga 5.0 is expected in early 1999. Schindler speculated that the upcoming Amiga platform may incorporate code from the Linux OS, BeOS, or Java platforms.

os4.0 is out the door for classic and newer hw(a1), next is os5.0...

anyway amiga inc got bankrupt, taken to court, missed some dates and still crawling forward. after all this time the amiga wagon is still on schedule & rockin!!!   ;-)

Hi there to all of you Amigans,

This is my first post here so let me say that I am praud Amiga owner since 2005. I owned Amiga500 back in 90-ties, but then A1200 was to expensive for me. So few years ago I have decided to catch up some lost Amiga time. So here I am.

I don't know if the rumors of an announcement at a closed press event at CES are true or not but "New hardware is indeed being developed, and we have selected the first 3rd party manufacturer that will build in high quantities, and yes, this new hardware is being delayed because OS 4.0 is needed to complete the package and to resolve certain technical issues.  As I said before, no one wants OS 4.0 shipping more than Amiga."

I too can't run OS 4. I won't spend $900 for a used PPC accelerator but I can justify spending $900 on a new machine with OS or slightly more with monitor. I hope they do announce something. I love the look of OS 4 but 68K Amigas can't run it and PPC Amigas are hard to come by.

We only have to wait until Jan 7th or 8th to find out for sure.
