Setpatch
« on: December 27, 2007, 05:57:56 PM »
Ok guys,

I'm trying to update my system (see sig) to use the Setpatch from BB2, but no joy. It just crashes forcing a continual reboot. I tried SKIPROMUPDATES "scsi.device" but still the same.

The version I'm using is 44.17 - BB2 is 44.38. I can't find anything in between these 2?

The reason i'm doing this is when booting, I get a yellow Guru alert just when the screen shows; ie, not black. I'm trying to figure out what it is causing this and maybe my system will be a little more stable. Currently, I get random crashes when opening new programs, or even just loading new webpages in IBrowse.

So, has anyone got suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Have you actually installed BB2 with its installer?

Yes, years ago and I remember then having to replace Setpatch to an earlier version.

Just to clarify, you have upgraded to BB2 but for some reason had to use an older Setpatch version so downgraded it. Now you want to return to the original BB2 version. Right? If so, have you tried fully reinstalling BB2?

A1200, Blizzard 68030/50MHz, KS 39.106, Workbench 39.29, SetPatch 43.6, and a grab-bag of software nearly all of which is pre-OS3.5.

No Boing Bags.

You got it right.

No, I haven't re-intalled BB2 and would be loathe to do that, as it might overight some newer files that I have?

Thanks.

Unless you have upgraded some components of 3.9 with 3rd party patched versions, then none of them will be newer than BB2.
