Looking to buy Toaster setup
« on: December 19, 2007, 04:26:09 PM »
I used a 2000 with Toaster back in college, then had a 4000 with Toaster out of college. It's been a while, but I'd love to dabble into the Amiga world and try to get a Toaster up and running again, for nostalgia's sake.

I'm in Orlando, FL. Are there any cheap Amigas out there I can get the ball rolling with?

C'mon, A2000 Toasters often show up on Craigslist for $200 or so. He said "dabble".

Just be sure that unless it comes with a C= monitor, that a scandoubler is included (or you locate one on Ebay)
Amiga 3000D UP and running! Hear that clicking. 8)
Amiga 3000D & 4000D in storage sadly.

Where did they get them from?  I can't imagine a load of Toasters just sitting in a warehouse for 20 years...

@Pyromania

I guess if I decide sell mine, I'll just have to hope nobody sees your website. :-(

Well, here's what I really want to do: use a few Toaster transitions in Premiere or After Effects.

I made several videos in college and recently got a kick out of re-editing them in modern software (and fixing up a few things while I was at it). But there were a few of the classic Toaster wipes that aren't available in the software I now use.

What I'd love to do is transition from solid black to solid white using the missing wipes. Mostly the organics (pour, smoke, clouds, and fire). That way, I can use them as luma mattes in Premiere and/or After Effects and complete my old videos.

Is there anyone out there with a Toaster set up who can record B/W transitions for me and make an MOV file?

Your original message was full of desire to immerse yourself back into the Amiga world with a Video Toaster. Then, it fell apart, and to just wanting transitions.

If your desire is to own an A4000 toaster CPU, let me know. I have an A4000 Toaster card, and a few Amiga's that would fit your needs.
Won\'t hide my location.

@Amiga4k

He went from wanting a cool Amiga Toaster setup to boring old Adobe Premiere.

 :-D

It went downhill very fast. I think it is even illegal to say Adobe Premiere on amiga.org

New Video Toaster 4000 cards have not be built in almost 10 years. We have tested the mountain of Toaster cards we have been collecting over the years. Once we did this

and this

We thought it might be a good idea to start collecting them and that is just what we did.

oh, i'm still interested in acquring hardware. having the transitions would just fulfill my immediate need and allow  me to finish up my projects.

i'm an avid collector, though. I have a 2600, intv, colecovision, atari 800, and atari 520st. adding an amiga to my line up would be sweet.
