Super Stardust freezing on my A1200 '060
« on: December 17, 2007, 08:41:37 PM »
I have an A1200 '060 with 64MB or so of FAST RAM and I recently downloaded Super Stardust (AGA) on 6 ADFs.  It boots (disk 1), asks me for disk 6, loads a bit more, then asks me for disk 1.  I get music and a starfield but no Star Wars-ish scrolltext (which I know to expect from the original Stardust which works fine (3 floppies)).  UNLIKE the orig Stardust on my A2000, no mouse click or joystick button click or key click will get me beyond this starfield with looping music.

What is the problem?

I can't do anything like issue a 'setpatch' (for '060 help) and then run it as its a need-to-boot-the-floppy game, I believe.

I wanted to run it to get some shots to add to my "Stardust: from Amiga to Playstation 3" gallery.  :-)

Thanks.

Since this is a recent dl of six ADFs, it's unlikely to work with WHDLoad, right?  Does that not require pure, original floppies?

Tnx.

Use the IPFs from Dream17 to install under UAE, then copy the installation back to the Amiga.

Dream17 also has the CD version (which I helped with), but you need to be able to emulate a CD32 (which is actually possible on an A1200 with a CD-ROM drive):

N.B. The (now free) MakeCD should be able to burn the ISO + MP3 music tracks.
