They probably wished we all would forget them, completely. The point that has been made over and over again, they see the Amiga Community as a bunch of nutjobs. We haven't been their target market since the formation of Amino.

I just can't figure out why they wanted the Amiga name and related IP so much. The IP has turned out to be worthless for AInc. except for initating lawsuits, and as you say they probably would prefer everyone who remembers the real Amiga to just go away so they can get on with - well, whatever crap it is they eventually get on with.

Of course I wonder the same thing about Hyperion as well.

As it stands, I *STILL* think Duke Nukem Forever has them beat for most popular vaporware.

Duke Nukem Forever will be bundled with OS5. The targetting hardware is the upcoming 3x5x6xdoubletriplequad core cpus by ACK.

Damn it! you are right.

But still from what I hear *a* license will leak on the internet like OS4 Macmini boot loader and ACube will also act as the exclusive worldwide distributer of it.

How this will work, I have no idea  :-P

Actually they've been an international corporation with a skeleton crew in several countries for a long time.  Those IT jobs aren't American and, with the exception of their bit to be the first company with an AOT compiler called AmigaDE, there never were American jobs.

Furthermore they'd be lucky to find enough American programmers to make any headway since the IT industry has rebounded to its internet boom levels in most areas in the U.S.  It's only the investment capital that is lagging in the U.S. economy.

What would really help Amiga is if there were less lawsuit developments and more software developments.

In all honesty, I'm surprised that Amiga, Inc. hasn't been cited for money laundering....  :lol:

That's the only reason I think they're doing the whole "Amiga" thing. Having the Amiga IP gives them a "valid", paper company.  :roll:

Interesting, the IT folks I know in the US must be in a unique situation, they find the job environment their awful.  I know we have a problem here in Australia, with outsourcing to India taking our jobs, everything I hear about American seems to be as bad or worse.

That aside, what does Amiga Development India do if not provide outsourcing services to America?
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

What we\'re witnessing is the sad, lonely crowing of that last, doomed cock.

@persia:
M$ shop. That's the sad truth, indeed.

@A1260:
And after the court, we'd get a promise that they'd send us the money, but of course being a promise from AInc... Well you know how it'll go :-)

@MarkTime:
Exactly!!! Hahahaha. Win a badge or some other lame sh*t.
And exactly on the spot with the "no one but the lawyers win" :-(  And this is unfortunately another part of the unfair justice system here. The sueing is only happening from those with large sums.

@jorkany:
Although I don't possess any specific knowledge, I wondered the same thing and my conclusion was that they must have used the IP to make deals with other companies, but without resorting to legal avenues, by just cutting smaller deals. You know what I mean? Smaller extortion, but for such petty thieves that they seem to be, good enough. Part of the reason for this thinking is that Carl Sassenrath mentioned at last year's AmiWest that he still is quite busy with Amiga IP and companies knocking on his door to ask for technical advice in various IP cases. So guess who else would be involved? (like I said, this is not based on facts, but deductive logic on my part)

@CoolamigaN/Methuselas:
:laughing: Ah, that was good!

@downix:
GASP! I guess now OS5 must be coming out in a couple of days, through the chimney, carried by Santa all the way from Washington!! :-D

@Pyromania:
Indeed!

@da9000

You let the secret out about Amiga OS 5.0! Santa will be delivering it himself to everyone around the world on Christmas morning. Now I understand the silence and it all finally makes sense.

And along with OS5, Santa will be delivering cold fusion and faster-than-light signaling.
