I don't remember them saying that they were going to release it... I remember them saying that they were going to release information on it...

And as much has I don't think it's gunna happen.. They do still have 15 days... Although that should give them more than enough time to make up some fake screenshots and info :p
Back to action!

The only surprise is that they're not in jail.

Well, regardless of whether they say they are going to release it or just talk more about it, I doubt it will ever happen. Name something they have released for us regular users.

Bill @ Co.  know they are the butt of all jokes in the Amiga world and beyond.  By saying things like they do it keeps them in the media.  Had him and his cohorts not said anything at all AI would be forgotten.

So what I'm wondering..  Will AI just die and go away?  They're like one of your stepparents post divorce..  You have nothing to say to them yet they linger around.

They probably wished we all would forget them, completely.  The point that has been made over and over again, they see the Amiga Community as a bunch of nutjobs.  We haven't been their target market since the formation of Amino.

No, they will be around for a long time to come with the IP and Pentti's cash.  I'm sure they wish we all would die and go away though.  The only company I can see going down for good is Hyperion.  They lose these law suits, including the OS4 Devs suing them, they are toast.  Hyperion does not have the financial backing and can not possibly survive the massive amount of bills piling up should they lose.

Wont we survive anyway?  Look at all the end-all saviours that vanished in the past!  And I'll bet there are technically more Amiga fans now with UAE and all.

I think it would be nice if they went under so we would stop having them on our mind. We don't expect anything, but it is like winning the lottery, once in a while you might get a free ticket and that keeps you in it...

Little revenue and they are still around -- hard to fathom

Heh, not surprised either, although BinoX I think is correct: it was an announcement about information forthcoming, not a product or anything (what's wrong with you? they can't make physical things! didn't you know?)

Anyhow, I'm surprised they've also not gone completely bankrupt and put to jail yet. Out of all the ex-suitors of the Amiga (ESCOM, Gateway, etc), they're the longest living! For some reason the Commodore/Amiga curse hasn't killed them yet! It's like the saying "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger", but unfortunately with the wrong player in mind. They're like damn {bleep}roaches! Nuclear bugs! Arggg! DIE already! Amiga is OURS. You'll never have it!

Amiga Inc is a company that outsources American IT jobs to India, they make their money n dotNet development.  They sell a few old software titles but *nothing* for Amiga or Mac.  Amiga Inc is a Microsoft shop.

@A1260

And what would you win, a badge?

Join the "I sued Amiga, Inc. and won club"...it would be no more or less exclusive than the, I paid for a t-shirt and received one club.

The players are shuffling corporations around, win one judgement, they come back with a new corporation that magically bought the rights.

Not to say, someone in hindsight, couldn't have timed things just slightly better, and forced them into bankruptcy liquidation and forced the ip liquidation into a trustee's hands...thereby preventing the asset shuffle.

But the people that won their cases, weren't going for that...the people that wanted that, had somewhat trumped up cases....

and so it goes...I think for most people its not worth the time to go to court...it's not that Amiga, Inc. would win...its that no one wins...by the time you get to Court everyone loses, only the lawyers make money.

I just can't figure out why they wanted the Amiga name and related IP so much. The IP has turned out to be worthless for AInc. except for initating lawsuits, and as you say they probably would prefer everyone who remembers the real Amiga to just go away so they can get on with - well, whatever crap it is they eventually get on with.

Of course I wonder the same thing about Hyperion as well.
