I don't have a favorite to like but I have a favorite to hate:   Centon.

In my newest PC (=my game machine :-)) I used 2x Corsair 256Mb DDR PC2700 CAS2 Low Latency. Works very well! :-) It's built on the Abit NF7-S rev 2.0 motherboard (with the nForce2 chipset).

In my Pegasos I use 1x 512MB registered Samsung module. Works very well too! :-)
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :)

Favorite brand of RAM??

instead of just listing the brands, i think it would be more usefull to list the reasons why

the for and against for each brand, good or bad,,,

Well I can tell you the reasons I chose these brands:

Crucial = stable, lifetime warranty
Corsair = stable, fastest available at time of purchase, Lifetime Warranty

Whatever is going at the right price and works at the speed I want.  I buy the cheapest, check it out and if it doesn't hold up I exchange.  Nice and simple.  Kingston are fine, but my friend paid three times what I did for an identical stick (aside from Kingston rebranding).  Same deal, for the most part with Crucial et al. as far as I can tell.  Personally never had any real trouble, even with Winbond and the like.  In fact I can't remember the last time I had memory fail me.  I did have to exchange a stick of 512Mb DDR 400 when it was pretty much "the new thing" because it would not work a CL2 with the rest of the timings I wanted.  But that was a painless exchange for a stick made by the same brand as the other 512Mb DDR 400 stick I had in the same system.  So aside from a little time and some diesel, nothing was lost.

Mine is Crucial/Micron.

I've had excellent results with their products.

- Excellent web site and ordering. Occasionnal free shipping.

- Reasonable prices considering the quality and the warranty.

- I bought 2 DDR RAM bars when it was still new technology and a bar gave out after a few months. They replaced it very quickly no questions asked. Flawless operation ever since and the memory is used 24h/day.

- I can operate my DDR RAM at way above the standard parameters (less wait states, etc) with perfect operation.

Sorry for the OT but:

have you tryed to buy SIMMs for CSPPC from

http://www.oempcworld.com ?

For the CSPPC, it is better to buy 4x 32MB SIMM or 2x 64MB?

FastPage or EDO? 2K or 4K refresh?

Thanks in advance

Ciao :-)

I have seen a lot of trouble with Kingston Value RAM in so far as compatabilty with other sticks of even Kingston....I was told that the Value RAM version of Kingston should not be confused as Regular Kinston RAM..
