Isn't there a driver for the Cybervision 8mb Permedia card attached to the CyberStorm?

Does MOS 1.4.5 have a driver for that config?

(Too lazy to look it up myself, I am on vacation this weekend and typing from the hotel room)

I'm a student... go figure  :-)

I wish I could afford a PPC card let alone a Cybervision, anything is possible but ££ is always the main limiter for me...  :-)

You know, before OS4'classic' was announced (for real this time) I wished I hadn't bought a PPC!

Okay, I want to know, am I still the only one waiting for my copy of OS4??? :-?  :-?  :-?  :-?  Actually, I know it is on it's way here but just now I'm actually getting anxious.

Wow, isn't actually that bad!

Looks fairly good... For AGA!

How fast are window-draws etc... is it laggy to move windows etc... or does it just default to the "windows are redrawn when youve stopped moving them" like on OS3.x?

Anyway, looks nice... for AGA! :-) :-D

Erm........ I haven't really bothererd looking at what the windows are doing yet as I'm more interested in getting my devices and programs working etc, but:-

OS4 Quickstart Guide wrote:

5. Holding down CRTL and ALT allows you to resize a window by dragging any border of the window.

6. Holding down CRTL and LAmiga allows you to move a window by dragging any part of it (not just the title bar)

7. Holding down LAmiga allows you to drag your screen from any point.

8. Holding down RAmiga will move your selected icons horizontally or vertically (depending on the initial mouse movement)

9. Pressing SHIFT key when you drag a screen allows you to drag it in all directions even if this feature has not been enabled in Preferences.

Don't know if that is anything fantastic or not

@Nearly-Right

If you're still having troubles, try this thread over on aw.net. Rogue and other OS4 developers are posting replies there.

@A4000_MAD - If that's an AGA screenshot I'm a pregnant squid!

@thread - So far not loving it too much.  I'm having similar problems to everyone else with my 3com card, despite the first option in the "new connection" menu being for said hardware.  I'm confused as to how they expect any of those options to work, since the DEVS/Networks folder (and its storage counterpart) have virtually nothing in them.
Also, everything seems way slower than I expected, even with minimal resolution and graphical effects in place.  DV player won't work (unable to open a screen or something) and so far no official follow ups by Hyperion to the various reports of stuff not working.
Basically I was hoping it would be like a slightly vamped up 3.9 with PPC speed (I've had no contact with 4.0 before now other than seeing the occasional screenshot).
On the good side, it does install like a dream, and the HD templates are a stroke of genius.

Here's waiting for the Hyperion.com downloads section to start filling up a bit...

IIRC there were reports that the 3com589.device works,
and reports stating the opposite. The card is not on the
OS4 compatibility list. cnet.device is listed there as
working. OS4 does not include third-party network drivers
but offers you a list in the "New Connection" wizard.
For a basic ethernet network with a router to the outer
world, you can use Prefs/Internet instead of Internet/New Connection which is more for dialup and PPP stuff.

Well you had better start having those baby squid mate

That previous screengrab was PAL: 640 x 256 Interlaced (no GFX card was in the A4000)

Here were the installation settings.....

And we might as well finish off with an 800 x 600 24bit screengrab (CyberVision64/3D refitted) :-)

8-)

Yeah I've got problems with DV Player as well. I've got sound but no picture. However, if I click on the player and nudge it around a bit, the picture comes and goes while I'm moving it. But whenever the player is still there's no picture at all (it's just black) :-?

@TetiSoft - I've tried both methods, no success I'm afraid.

@A4000_MAD - Hmm, you have the "BootVGA" and "Monitor - Amiga Monitor (15 kHz)" going.  I've been passing these options by as I have a scandoubler and PC monitor and wondered if they would damage something.  What's your setup?

I'm currently playing around with an A4000/PPC 604e 233Mhz with 060/50, CV64/3D, Oktagon SCSI card with Zip 100, Phase5 scandoubler in video slot and PC monitor.

To get the AGA screengrab reqested by DBAlex, I took out my CV64/3D and went through the whole installation again using a different HDD and didn't select a GFX card from the list. I just left it as AGA, Amiga 15 khz with BootVGA box ticked.

When I booted into OS4 and went into Prefs/Screenmode I could see that it was in pal:640 x 512 Interlaced :-)

You can try to use the NOOVERLAY tooltype of DVPlayer,
on a PicassoIV this fixes the problem.
