Monitor cable
« on: December 10, 2007, 09:51:58 PM »
I've decided to have a go at fixing my monitor cable after searching in vain for a replacement online.  What's happened is that the end that attaches to my A1200 became separated from the lead when my old, standard, A1200 fell off the unstable work surface it was sitting precariously on  :getmad:

What I'm wondering is - how difficult would it be to repair?

Or can anyone recommend a UK based (+ cheap) company to do it for me?

thanks

Paul

I've made my own monitor cables in the past. It's not hard. Three wires for RGB and three for their grounds at the Amiga end (the grounds can all go to one pin at the monitor end), and then a composite X-Y sync wire with a ground.

That's it - eight soldered connections inside the 23-way Amiga plug. At the monitor end, I have used DIN plug (old Commodore monitor) and BNC connectors (PC multiscan).
