USB Memory from Commodore!!!
« on: July 17, 2003, 04:42:40 PM »
Today I pick up a products catalog from a large computer shop in Spain (Jump) and I found a 128Mb Memory USB from COMMODORE!!!

It cost 39 Euros + VAT.

What do you think about this? Is tulip made? Or someone else is using the Commodore logo.

@Redrum

They have a Javascript or Flash webpage, so it's not easy to get direct links to pictures.  It's easy to get there though.  Go to www.flash.es, then click on "La tiend@ Jump" (on the right side, the topmost icon), that will open up another window.  From that click on "perifericos", that will bring up a different set of icons.  Click on "memorias", that will change the view again.  Now search for "commodore" (it's about a third down, you'll need to scroll), you should find an entry that reads "Commodore USB Floppy -on- stick 128MB".  Click on the "mas detalles..." button that appears next to it and a window will pop up with the technical details and a photo.  It's definitely commodore branded.  Weird...

Tulip?

You think Tulip are going to keep their name or change it to commodore?

They will change there name if they want to make money.  C= is still a huge and recognizable sales marketing tool.  Everyone knows it - almost.

Conspiracy theory alert!

Tulip is a dutch company, and the venture capitalists who own Amiga are dutch too.  I wonder if they have shares in Tulip?

Commodore Amiga ONE anybody? :-D

Interesting, that's the old C= logo (look at the Eurotype-ish typeface used), and not the one from the Escom days.
