KVM for PS/2 devices with 4+ buttons
« on: December 05, 2007, 05:57:52 PM »
I use a two port PS/2 KVM to use my Linux box and A4000T using the same trackball/keyboard.  This has worked really well with Lyra and Cocolino adapters on the Amiga.  Well, the newer-model Logitech trackball died so I swapped out to a (ugh!) mouse.  A friend recently gave me a Trackman Marble FX, an older trackball that I've always wanted to try but haven't been able to justify the expense...just look on eBay.

This trackball is a bit weird as it has no scroll wheel but a fourth button that, when held down, allows the ball to work as a scroll wheel.  I found that my KVM totally ignores this button, using xev in Linux no button press is seen.  I don't use the scroll on the Amiga but I use it extensively on the Linux box, so I had to disconnect it from the KVM and plug the damn mouse back into the Amiga.

Does anybody know of a PS/2 KVM that works with 4+ buttons?  Maybe verified it plays nice with Amiga adapters too?  It's a shame this one doesn't do it as the video quality is really excellent from it.
