No it is NOT possible to use it with second simm socket in desktop amiga as the socket it self hit the keyboard .. As for black simm sockrets try ebay radio shack etc you will find it if you search a little..

I have found the right-angle SIMM sockets here.

Digikey stocks them. I haven't tried yet, but a right-angle socket plus a little modification to your case and keyboard *might* allow 2 SIMMs in a desktop unit.

I was thinking the same before but just wait too se how crammed it is i am sure you will give up too. If you are desperate for more ram try to find a blizzard 1240 instead they are great as they support the same in 1 socket...

Yeah, I have an angled socket installed on mine now, and there's no freakin' way it will fit. With a RA socket it looks possible, but you'd have to shave a little plastic from the case (so the card can hang down a little) and probably take a little metal off the underside of the KB. I'm probably not willing to cut up my amiga though.

I had a Blizz 1260 at one time, it was a great card. Having 64 MB in one socket was nice, and all the mem I requred. This time around though I went with an Apollo card for the faster chipset access. The 32 MB limit/socket does kind of suck, but TBH I've only needed more when running Starstruck. (Then I just pull the KB up temporarily.) So far I love the card, it's fast and rock solid. I haven't yet been able to get Starstruck to run at an overall decent framerate, but everything else has been great.

That is why i have a apollo 060 too its a great card but i had to go D-BOX the chipset access is easy to notice if you run clickboom aga quake on a blizzard060 then try on the apollo060 you will notice it becomes almost playable. :-D
I never could tell which card was best either way .. I gues it is my 80mhz apollo due to overclock.

Let us know how it went with that L angle socket
