Yes, I totally agree with you. Anyone looking to buy a CSPPC and OS4 is going to have to spend a lot of money which could go towards more important things.

I actually only told my wife yesterday how much my CSPPC cost. Had I told her 4 years ago that I was buying it to run OS4 one day, I think I would now be divorced

Just the fun of having an os4 machine and be able to poke around and discover new things that the amiga can do will be a great feeling.
Isnt that what having a computer hobby is all about?

Yes, exactly. But for the huge cost of a CSPPC I really need it to do more than just provide a new playground for a while.

You are deciding *now* whether to get a PPC and run OS4. Some of us have been waiting with our PPC's for years.

Well they weren't exactly affordable years ago! When they first came out (and nobody had even heard of OS4) I was in school and could never have afforded one. And now that they are more desirable than ever, I still can't afford one!

@ moto

I wasn't suggesting that you should have decided earlier to get a CSPPC and OS4. The "*now*" in my post was merely intended to point out the time that you had chosen to consider doing it. Unfortunately this is the most expensive time you could have chosen mate  :-(

Oh ok. When I read the words my brainbox applied a slightly derisive tone. I really must try to teach it to stop doing that :-)

I know. But I suppose that's to be expected. Before OS4 Classic was released it was a gamble - buy the CSPPC and risk not having an (Amiga) OS to run on it. But now OS4 is released, it's to be expected that the price of the hardware required to run it will increase.
