WTB: Amiga 4000 Kickstart 3.1 ROMs
« on: December 04, 2007, 11:16:30 AM »
Hello,

I'm looking for a tested set of Kickstart 3.1 ROMs for Amiga 4000. Amigakit doesn't have them listed and the set I picked up from Software Hut won't work for me - tried them in both socket positions in case they were mislabeled, but the machine will not boot until I reinstall the old 3.0 ROMs.

Thanks much!

I think Amigakit has them even if they aren't listed. At least I bought mine from them..  :-?

Ah, okay, I do see they have 4000T ROMs listed at Amigakit. Would those work in a desktop? It says the 4000T ROMS are 40.70 while the 4000 ROMs from Software Hut were labeled 40.68.

40.68 is for A4000D's
40.70 is for A4000T's

One difference is onboard SCSI with the A4000T.

When you install the ROMs, be sure you are inserting them the right way around. Each ROM chip is Socket Specific & the orientation of the ROMS in their respective sockets is Paramount.

Make sure you are earthed to avoid Static discharge!
