Probs with gcc.
« on: July 15, 2003, 04:10:34 PM »
Hi.

I`m tryin to run g++ on my computer, but I have troubles with ixemul. It seems that ixemul doesn`t like the ssystem() command. Instead it suggests me to use ggcv, but theres no replacement for g++.

Does anyone know a solution to this??

What versions of gcc and ixemul? Some older gcc's don't run with recent versions of ixemul so you need to downgrade your ixemul or get a newer gcc (2.95 preferably)

How to install this thing? I´ve tried to copy the files over the 2.7.0 installation, but it won´t work. Just hangs my system untill I press control-C.

For a clean installation, got to (same site) /geekgadgets/amiga/m68k/snapshots/990529
The Boot.lha archive contains everything
necessary  to install and use gcc (and more)
It might be quite long to download all the binaries,
though. If you want to use only gcc not everything
is compulsory (but I don't know the list).

I found out that it was a good idea to make an install of GeekGadgets too. Now when i´m tryin to compile, I get this errormessage:

/gg/m68k-amigaos/bin/ld: cannot open -lstdc++: No such file or directory
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

Whats wrong? Do I miss a package or something else?

Congratulations to me! Just got it working. It´s a wonder to me that it´s SO dificult to install.

Anyway, it´s running - though it´s slow as hell. Is it possible to install a warpos version??
