SunRize AD516 - best soundcard ever made for the Amiga
« on: November 19, 2007, 10:13:43 AM »
Hello folks, rare opportunity here. I'm selling off my SunRize AD516 soundcard. I need money, and I have no time to spend making music with it.

It's been used in a studio amiga 3000 which produced movie scores. It's been tested and functions fully, drivers can still be found on aminet.

Here are the specs

Pictures, apologies for the bad quality. I assure you however that it is in great visual condition. There is a better picture of how it looks like on the link above.

As far as price goes, I will only consider offers from 100 euro and up. There seem to be very few of these left around, so if you are an Amiga musician (or aspiring to be one) and you can guarantee me that you will make music with it- I can hold it for you until you get the money to pay for it.

Offers can be sent to my inbox here or to audun at hodnefjell dot no - good luck.

I recently bought a Sunrize AD516 but haven't really used it yet. It should integrate very well with Bars & Pipes and also supports AHI if you dont want to use Studio 16.

Btw, does anyone know if the manual is available as pdf or someting? I didn't get one with my card.

I have the manuals for it.  I have to say it is one of the best written manuals..  for any product, ever.  If you want to really understand everything there is to know about sound..both analog and digital, this is the book I recommend.  Its a shame they went out of business, as the OP said, they made one of the best sound cards of all time. I still record on mine all the time.  Its pure class-a quality.  No harmonic distortion whatsoever.
Primary:
A4000T. Phase5 PPC604e-233mhz/060-66mhz. Mediator, Z3 Fastlane, Voodoo5, Delfina, X-Surf, AD516, Peggy Plus.

Collection:
A4000D, A1200, A500, Milan060 (Atari clone), Atari MegaSTE, Atari TT030, C64, C128, Mattel Aquarius, (2) HP Jornada....

Sounds like I have to start using it then... ;-)
I don't think I would really need the manual just to do basic recording but it would be nice to have it anyways.

I scanned the manual to PDF several years ago. It was hosted on an Amiga hardware site some where, but I can't recall where now. If some one needs a copy, PM me.

Great soundcard, I have an instructional VHS tape lying around here somewhere that I found very useful for that card.

Judging by the context, I think he PM'd Plaz for the scanned manual (although without the telltale "@Plaz" at the top it is difficult to tell) since he said he already had the card but no manual.
