« on: November 17, 2007, 06:56:19 PM »
Hi to all,

I discovered the A2286AT was shipped with an external lithium battery. Can somebody help finding out one?

Thank you

Never seen one of these in person, but according to the info on BBoAH it looks like the "3 pin + key" lithium battery connector, for an industry standard battery like  this one.  Any decent computer parts shop should have them in stock, or at least source one for you.  Just for the record, the A4000T uses this for the (optional) external battery as well.

Looks like J13 on the separate board is for the battery connector, though you might want to make a couple of checks with an ohmmeter.  The pin nearest the edge of the board should be ground.  The pin at the opposite end of the connector should be the +ve supply to the RTC.  Not sure where that is, but shouldn't be too hard to trace.

mmm... I am not able to check... I have not the tools nor the experience in electronics! :(
Do you think it's possible to find out the voltage and the usage of the 3 pins (one of the original 4 is cut from the factory!)?

The outer pins are the ones you need, GND is easy to locate with a multimeter and the other one is 3.6V.
