Problems running a Delfina card in a 1200?
« on: November 12, 2007, 02:49:30 PM »
I had asked this before and got one answer, but I am asking again because I actually found a Delfina to buy.  Here are my questions:

Does the Delfina work on 3.1 ROMS with OS3.9 installed?

How do I get the thing into my A1200 tower?

Will it work effectively with a system running an 030 at 50MHz accelerator?  (I would like to be able to play MP3s on it.)

Any answers to any of these questions would be greatly appreciated.  I want to make sure I am not going to make a mistake buying this thing.

Is it the clockport delfina or a zorro one ???

It will hardly use cpu cyckles with delfina DSP doing the mp3 decoding

I checked and it is going to be the clockport model.  I am looking to get it from Software Hut and they are telling me they have sold about 25 with no complaints.

Just be sure to get the right driver someone here on the forum can give you the less buggy one , The latest one may suffer with bugs as i had a lot of problems .Also i think this has to do with the card version i am sure i had the first  ..

If you buy now i gues it will be from the latest batch so i wouldent worry to much...

Good luck. :-D

I've heard a rumor that Jens (Delfina Flipper's designer, I think) maintains a list of A1200 accelerators that are compatible.  I haven't found or seen this yet.  Maybe some one else here has it.

After getting some info from you guys I am going to get the Delfina.  here is to hoping.

I still wish I could find a better accelerator.  I would've rather put in a Mediator setup.  But this will do.

Well kind off late but..
I never got it to work inside my amiga1200.
With or without accelarator.
Always freezed after 1 song or 2 tried all kind off delfina library's.
Did get it to work reliable inside my amiga4000 onto a isdn dufer as clockport provide with a special 060 library off the delfina lib.
That library only works on the 060 I tried it on my 030.
Maybe there is a difference from card to card?
Anyway one thing I found out don't use a longer clockport cable it won't work(no initialisation).
Inside my amiga4000 it has worked 100% and nice sound too.
So if it works great card.

If 4.16b48 isn't working, try delfib_patch_2.lzx from this page.
