Ok this will be a hard one, because it is a Tetris game, and there are millions of'em. The worse thing is, I think this game is called Tetris :>

Anyway, the game in question was released around 1990ish, I never found it anywhere, I know for a fact it ain't on the net and prolly it ain't in anyone's colection (there is a slight chance that it is an argentinian game), so I'm mainly looking for information about it if anyone knows it (Publisher, release date, etc.).

I've been looking for it since 1993!!!!! And a thread on EAB has been running about this for 6 years.

Some data that will help you in your quest:

READ THIS FIRST
Games that ARE NOT the one we are looking for (updated 06NOV2007)

- Amiga Tetris (Infogrames)
- Amiga Tetris 2
- Avatris
- Cigar tetris (2000 A.D.)
- Coloris
- Digital Tetris
- Ditris
- Duotris
- Facestris III
- Final Tetris (megademo part)
- Mirrorsoft's Tetris
- Power Tetris
- Project T
- ProTris v1.0 (1993)(Mirage)
- Spectrum Holobyte's Tetris

(but I heard there are two versions of this, one very rare. Haven't seen the second one yet)
- Super Caztri
- Super Tetris
- Super Twintris
- Tetren (PD, post 1990)
- Tetris
- Tetris (Gary Wheatly)
- Tetrix
- Tetris +
- Tetris III
- Tetris Metallica
- Tetris Pro
- Tetris the Next Generation
- Tetrys 95 (1995)(Crayon X)(AGA)(Fr)
- The Last Tetris
- Twintris
- Zaxk

*The looks of the game we look for are exact or almost exact to those of Atari Tetris. Look at picture:

*The game is not part of a demo, it's a standalone game

*The scrolling down of the tetris blocks is smooth, like in SNES's Tetris Bombliss. The demopart posted by KnucklesD hops from position to position, just like the arcade game. The game we look for one-upped the arcade game in that respect.

*The music was more uptempo than the original arcade tetris music. It had no vocal samples, but it had a more " techy"/electronic feel to it. Think of the year 1992, 2Unlimited sort of cheesy thang.

*It was featured in an argentinian TV show dedicated mostly to the Amiga. Show in question was called "El Cerebro Magico"and it aired at Channel 2 from La Plata around 1990/92. They had compos for this game, and there's a slight chance this is an argentinian developed game (far fetched, but I'm beginning to think so!)

We're looking for any leads. So far 2 guys in here have a slight memory of having played it or seen it. It would be most helpful to grab footage from this TV show, as to prove the existance of the game and better consistent evidnce (games were shown full-screen on gameplay when they ran the compos)

WE ARE OFFERING A REWARD FOR THE LOCATION OF THIS GAME

Thank you for your attention :)

Maybe you are looking for a game called Squigs???  Just a guess or actually prob not since it doesn't look like the atari tetris.

If it ain't looking like Atari Tetris, I ain't looking for it.
My request has been pretty clear and strict, I have been looking for this for 16 years or so!

Could it be any of these?
Amigaboy Tetris (1989) (Looks and plays like a Gameboy)
Amiga Tetris - Sex Special (ok, probably not)
Giger-Tetris (1993) (AGA, I guess not)
Power Tetris (1994) (Too new?)
The Tetris Collection
Tetris v3
Ultimate Gameboy Simulator - Tetris (1992)

Edit: Seems the Tetris Collection was just Tetris Pro by 2000AD..  :-(

Hmmm...

I remember paying a German Tetris clone called Steinschlag that played pretty close to Atari Tetris.  That wouldn't be it, would it?

What was terrible? The w*nk or the game?  :-D  :-D

I know the feeling the TS has. I've been looking for this tennis game for quiet a while. Turned out to be Tie-Break.

I recognise the screenshots, because I had this game on PC. And on the PC it's called "Supertet" (at least on the floppy I had). It's freeware.

Strange though that appearently on the Amiga it's not Supertet (as super tetris is alreay added to your list).

Even if blocks scroll down super-smoothly, Steinschlag doesn't look very similar to Atari Tetris, does it?

Oh my! It seems my comment could be misunderstood in a most awful way!
I just meant that I played the game for 10-20 seconds, and nothing more.

@Akira

Hello pal,

I have a Tetris clone called Start'N'Tris. I think it's a Spanish game or something.

It's the best Tetris clone i've played on Amiga, but i'm not sure if it's what you're looking for. It's not exactly the same as Atari Tetris. It's a different game with it's own personality. But the scroll is very smooth . . . ok, it's on the Amiga, so it isn't anything new :-)

I coudn't find any references for it on the Internet, so i'll try to grab some screens to post here later.
