recovered files unrecornized by Amiga
« on: November 02, 2007, 03:18:16 PM »
Hello Miggy's

I have got a problem.

My harddisk crashed. Left it on the shelf for a while and finaly found a very nice man who was willing to try a recovery! (thank you thank you..!) He uses a PC btw.
He found some files which he put in a RAR file. I unpacked them on my PC and used a amiga formated disk to put it thrue Crossdos back on the Amiga1200.
It contains some Octamed modules, this is what I tried to open on the Amiga. But it said "Unrecornized file, load as and old ST-song?" It is the only option (besides cancel) and then the file is loaded as scrambled unplay able something.

:boohoo:

Can anyone explane me how to change the file information from these files, so I can put them without any trouble from the recoverd PC list, to the amiga, change the id-information so it will work on an Amiga???

any one, please?

Recovery software can only do so much, and if there's a (physically) bad sector right on top of the file then the chances are the it's corrupt.
Code: [Select]
10  IT\'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN
20  FOR C = 1 TO 2
30     DA-NA-NAAAA-NAAAA DA-NA-NA-NA-NAAAA
40     DA-NA-NAAAA-NAAAA DA-NA-NA-NA-NA-NA-NAAAAA
50  NEXT C
60  NA-NA-NAAAA
70  NA-NA NA-NA-NA-NA-NAAAA NAAA-NAAAAAAAAAAA
80  GOTO 10

Put one sample file online. Maybe it's just SQSH'd or something equally obvious...

Weird that the Octamed programmer dude was bent on corn domination of the music world.;-)

No quite following you!?!?

Piru checked it out for me.
It was all mixed up because of the recovering.
Just like a jigsaw puzzle but then the wrong way made!

I will ask the recover-man to make something better out of it....
