I sold my amiga 4000
« on: October 31, 2007, 02:05:02 AM »
Dear Friends:

A long time ago..I had a great amiga 4000 system.
030+16 mb ram+120 hd.but it was at the time it was a new system...so it was wonderful for me.I got it to learn animation...and got aladdin 4d with it.It was great. Then I saved enough money to buy lightwave...and I talked to lightwave people online...and they all adviced me to sell my amiga and get lightwave/pc with a new pc system. i was lucky and saved enough to buy a new pentium system+lightwave 3d (v 5.0).The pentium was super and lightwave fast/good.I sold my amiga 4000 for cheap ( us$ 350)to get rid and give to someone who wanted it.Is been many years now...and I have the latest pc plus the latest version of lightwave. But now I miss my amiga 4000. True, the lightwave is better for 3d animation...but now I realize that the amiga was much more than just a 3d graphics machine. The amiga was a great system and capable of doing so many amazing things. I wish I had kept my amiga 4000, and especially I did not need to sell it...I could have kept it along while I used lightwave. The worst thing was for me to sell it...I am so sad now.
I was lucky though...I also had a brand new amiga 1200...and this one I kept with me..and use it a lot even today. I am so happy...to have this shiny a1200 working fine. I upgraded it to 030/50mhz + 18mb ram + 2 giga hd.
The amiga 1200 amazing...I can still use aladdin 4d, amos pro, CanDO, Octamed and many other things.I will forever keep my a1200.I can not afford now to get an amiga 4000...but maybe in the future I will. I really wish I had kept it...then I could just get a cyberstorm and upgrade the a4000.Well..if I save again I can prob get an amiga 4000, but it will be a long time before I can afford it.
BTW I am not rich...I just saved lots of money over time to buy my amigas and the new pc/lightwave. I was a college student when I bought my first amiga.
This is my story...cheers!!!

You can get your A4000 back! Preferably buy one from a user on here. Failing that just pick one or two from ebay and watch the auctions/sellers carefully. A4000D's are still pretty affordable. It's the expansions that are the killer.

Great Story:-D

Wow very touching story.  I myself have 5 A4000's now.  I think they are the greatest Amigas.  How much you looking to spend?  I should sell off a few as I hardly use them...
Going Bananas over AMIGAs since 1987...

Looking for Fusion Fourty PNG ROMs V3.4?

I've got two 4000 desktops (both 040) which have become pretty much redundant since I've bought my A4000T. I plan to sell them in the not too distant future (probably by the end of this year), but not before I am absolutely sure they are working correctly (don't really want to sell non-working stuff).

So, if anyone is interested in a pretty much white, PAL, 230V Amiga 4000/040, watch this space! :-)
