Doom WAD files
« on: October 31, 2007, 01:51:37 AM »
I have Doom on several formats including Windows and console along with some modded versions. Would it be possible to somehow extract these WAD files for use with my HDD installed shareware version in my A1200?

If so, then a) how do I do this?

b) where do I put these extacted files? In the Doom drawer, just?

Thanks

Paul

You will need a full version of the WAD file from a PC or MAC.  Not sure any other version will work.  As far as using custom WADs from non PC/MAC, don't think that will work, but you can try it.

Hi, my 2 cents: strictly speaking, a shareware .WAD will work, but not for custom .WAD's. I use the .WAD from Ultimate Doom PC, renamed as doomu.wad, and just copied to my Amiga Doom DIR. (size is 12,408,292....) According to the Docs from ADoom, best luck is with PC .WAD files, less luck with MAC or Linux .WAD's....

Just copy the doom.wad file from the dos/windows doom directory to the amiga doom directory.
