Upgrading BPPC from 040 to 060
« on: October 18, 2007, 01:32:47 PM »
Hi Everyone,

I am in the process of physically upgrading my A1200 BPPC board from an 040 to an 060.

I can source a range of CPUs  for it and was wondering what one I should use.

060's I can get hold of :

XC68EC060RC60E
XC68060RC50
XC68060RC50A

Now, I think the XC68060RC50 is the 'full' version of the CPU, but I'm not sure about the XC68060RC50A model - and if I should use it?

Also am I right in thinking the EC lacks MMU or FPU etc?

Any other advise in upgrading the BPPC from an 040 to an 060 will be appreciated.

Cheers,

James

XC68060RC50A has less bugs and creates less heat. It's the best of the three.
