Suggestions for MOD player
« on: October 17, 2007, 12:57:33 PM »
Hi,

I'm looking for a nice mod player. It should be able to run on a bog standard 1.3 A500 and support the usual formats (but definitely Protracker). I see many packages on Aminet and it's kind of hard to choose. I was hoping some of you might have some suggestions. TIA!

@cpfuture

Yep!  Hippoplayer is the best there is. Especially for non upgraded Amigas and even for Upgraded Amigas..........its the fastest no hassle Mod Player..........although it crashes with MEDS occasionally. But there is nothing better than Hippoplayer.  I heard you can skin it and make it play MP3's but not sure.

CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

HippoPlayer is teh sh1t!  :-D

This is exactly what I was looking for. It's even got hotkeys so I can totally hide it and control it while I'm doing other stuff. I just glanced through the doc file and it's extremely configurable and supports loads of formats. Thanks a lot, Piru.

You know, I really appreciate (relatively) new Amiga programs like these that work on every Amiga starting from Kickstart 1.2 or 1.3 and up. HippoPlayer is a shining example of this.

@leirbag28: Yes, it supports MP3 as well, although I'm not going to try it on my A500  :lol:
