What is wrong with MSN?
« on: October 08, 2007, 05:48:46 PM »
Using Ibrowse 2.4 on my miggy  with spoofing enabled (MS IE7),
check out the average load times for these common websites:

google          <2 seconds
monster         <4 seconds
ebay            <3 seconds
craigslist      ~1 second
yahoo           <2 seconds
a.org           <2 seconds
gmail login     ~2 seconds
yahoo login     ~2 seconds
hushmail        ~6 seconds
amibench        <2 seconds
slashdot        ~4 seconds
fidelity        <4 seconds
msn          >300 seconds!
hotmail  Don't even bother..

Why is this?  Is it Big Brother Bill running
some enormous .js program and checking out your hardware
to make sure you're not using anything subversive...
like an Amiga?  :)   Most other websites work fine. Just
msn is hosed.  Except when I switch over to my PC..  Then MSN
runs fine.  Hmm?

I don't know about IE but it's pretty slow on Firefox as well.
Depending which path you follow to access hotmail, there can be a big difference in speed on Ibrowse.

The answer is simple, it's Microsoft!!

Everything they make is big, bloated and slow. Even websites
Religion is for people who believe in hell.
Spirituality is for people who have been there.

I never had a prob with slow loads from firefox or IE.  Ibrowse for me does not display it right, but I have a lot quicker load time than that.  check you connection speed by using a connection speed test.  MSN does use a lot of video and that may be slowing you down some also

How does Ibrowse handle www.meebo.com ?

Its an All in one web based IM provider that handles AIM, MSN, YIM etc.

Sorry, thought you were having issues with the PC version. AMSN sounds good though.

But only work with Wb3.1 or less.
Goodbye people.

about hotmail:

If you have to you use it on the Amiga you can use the mobile version:
http://mobile.live.com/hm/

its not great because its aimed at small displays
and you cant use attachements
but it works and is fast
