Simon HD install help.
« on: October 07, 2007, 10:44:34 PM »
Hi there gamers,

In in fairly desperate help trying to install Simon the Sorcerer. A damn fine classic and by far my favorite "point and click"'er. Disk 01 only seem to have a non accessible drawer named "Simon" and an image of a disk (icon) which only boots the game.
Plus, is there any way I can get an online manual for it? All my game boxes and manuals are at my Fathers and I forgot to bring it again! >.<
Don't worry, they are official copies... If they weren't I wouldn't be asking as pirates usually by-pass the protection anyway.

The WHDLoad install is only a few KB - you can easily transfer it via 720K floppy.

Copy the files over on a floppy. crossdos or similar.

whdload and an install should fit on a floppy.

WHDLoad is a premium bit of software isn't it? Plus I've never used Cross-DOS so some tutorial would be ideal (if possible).

You'll get a nag requester if you don't register (so do that). WHDLoad is probably the single most important piece of software on the Amiga today.

CrossDOS tutorial:
1. Drag PC0 from Storage/DOSDrivers to Devs/DOSDrivers.
2. Doubleclick PC0
3. Insert disk.

EDIT: And the next time you boot, simply...
1. Insert disk.
