I'm 34.

First Amiga experience was playing games on a friend's A500 in 1986.  Shortly thereafter, I got my own, which I still have and use to this day!

I am 46 now.

I was 25 back in 1986 when I first saw an Amiga in a store. I was going to buy a Leading Edge PC-comptible, but I changed my mind when I saw the graphics, sound and music on the Amiga demo. I ordered an Amiga 1000 with the extra 256 KB RAM, external 3.5 drive, DeluxePaint and TextCraft which I got in a couple months. I still have that machine and it still works.

I still use an Amiga almost daily, but its an Amithlon. I power up my classics every once in a while for a little trip down memory lane.
A1000 - 2 Floppies, 2 MB RAM, OS 1.0-1.3
A500 - 170 MB HD, 8 MB RAM, OS 1.3/2.04
A2000 - 350 MB HD, 8 MB RAM, A2630, OS 2.04
A2500 - 540 MB HD, 8 MB RAM, A2630, OS 3.9
A1200 - 20 GB HD, 64 MB RAM, Blizzard IV
Amithlon - 49 GB HD, 768 MB RAM, PIII-1G
AROS - 80 GB HD, 2 GB RAM, P4-3.2GHz

My fisrt Amiga experience was with a lovely Brazillian Amiga named Dasiy...I was 18, she was 19 and  her parents weren't home and we... uh...

sorry wrong site..

My first Amiga experience Software Etc in New York City Running games on a Amiga 500. Before then I had collected every issue of the US mag Amiga World and read every issue.

I wanted to be a 2-d Animator. The fact that you could draw and animate in Deluxe paint was mind blowing.

Knew I had to have one and spent the next couple of years saving until I purchased an Amiga 1000 for $150, it was on closeout back in 1988. Then purchased 4 floppies, and a MiniMEG 2 meg ram expansion for the side slot. Then my first Amiga 1080 monitor, a Genlock, I blew my pc friends mind when they saw my Workbench desktop background configured as video from my cable TV Box.

I've since owned every model ever manufactured minus the A500+.

I played such greats as Shadow of the Beast II and The Clive Barker type game. Sh.. i cannot remember-it must be the beer.
I bought some nice hardware such as GVP A530-40mhz and the
latest ppc card 50mhz/240mhz + blizzard vision.

I just checked on everybodies favourite Google and came up with "Nightbreed" An excellent game at the time.
A500+ A530 40mhz Action Replay
A1200 Blizzard 060/233 grex voodoo 3000

I'm 72

Got my first Amiga in 87.

Have owned, at various times:

A500, A2000, A1200, CD32, A4000T

Sold lst one (the A1200) only last year

Now reliant on Amiga Forever.

Some Amiga software is still very useful e.g. ImageFX, for which there is no substitute.

Thanks for all your comments! Some real interesting stuff put down here. I appear to be the youngest member at 18 which was a surprise but I guess we have yet to get more replies.
Also noticed that the majority of you had the "experience" in teens/20's ages. I was only about 3 or 4 playing quite simple games and that "Fun School" one. Interesting stories indeed! :-)

Rathluba, don't think I'm being rude here but I'm surprised to see someone in the 70's playing on Amiga computers. I have quite a stereotypical view that 70+ aged humans would seem lost even trying to operate a TV. Great to hear, or see anyway.

P.s. Sorry for the spelling mistake in the topic. Mod's feel free to edit it.

@Crom00

Wow, I remeber Software ETC.............was that the one in FLushing in Queens on Main Street?

THats where I bought my First Game: Obliterator from Psygnosis...........they had An A1000 on display and some Idiots had the audacity to say a PC can do better (1988 ish)

Anyway I am 33 and Me and My older brther had a Commodore64 and later around 1987 or 88 upgraded to an Amiga.............my friends were amazed at Dragons Lair and Sound Sound Sampling software we had to DJ with.

ahhh those days were like the best. Copying games and Demos was like the Kazaa craze of today downloading MP3's

We felt like Kings!

Im Still in NY Crom............where are you?
CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

Age: 32 years and 51 weeks

First experience: around 1987 when one of the stores across from Radio Shack in the South Forks Plaza in Grand Forks, ND, started carrying the Amiga 1000.  I was in love, but cost relegated me to the TI-99/4A and later the C64.  Several years later a friend had one and we played SotB and TKGS, ALOT.  Around 1990 a buddy ran a BBS on his.

First owned: I bought my first Amiga 500 on my first credit card in 1993 after I returned from my first road trip in my first car!

Amiga 500 in 1988. I was 22.

It was the 'Flight of Fantasy' pack that came with 'F29 Retaliator', 'Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters' and something else I can't recall. They were in my Mothers shopping catalogue and it was a 'pay over 38 weeks' deal.

I can remember being so excited when the catalogue truck arrived and dropped it off. The following weekend, I bought 512k expansion pack and a copy of Dungeon Master. The weekend after that, an external floppy.

Nothing short of an amazing machine and it was goodbye to the C64 at that point.

That the difference in the old guys I guess. I can't think of the reason why I should get rid of the old stuff (c64), so I still have it all. Darn it all!
